Your own front door in Mayfair, with a Michelin-starred kitchen, a world-class spa, and a dedicated butler a hidden corridor away.
The Mews is not a hotel suite in any conventional sense — it is a private three-floor townhouse, a fully self-contained residence with its own street address on Adams Row, Mayfair, that happens to sit within one of London's most iconic five-star hotels.
A hidden internal corridor — discreet, private, and known only to Mews guests and the hotel team — connects the townhouse to The Connaught's full amenity ecosystem, resolving the tension between residential privacy and world-class service that most accommodation can never fully address. Serviced apartments offer privacy but rarely world-class service. Traditional hotel suites, however grand, place you in a shared building with shared corridors. The Mews resolves this entirely.
Adams Row runs parallel to Mount Street in the heart of Mayfair, W1 — moments from Grosvenor Square, a short walk from the boutiques of Bond Street, the galleries of Cork Street, and the vast expanse of Hyde Park. Mount Street is one of London's most refined dining and boutique streets. Few hotel addresses in London place guests this close to this much, all at once.

A restrained palette of creams, tans, warm woods and natural stone, blending contemporary comfort with classical proportions. Michael Blair's brief was to create a space that felt like a Mayfair townhouse rather than a hotel suite — and that is exactly what he has achieved.
The design has warmth: in the wooden flooring, in the cream leather sofas, in the way light falls through sheer curtains onto shelving that holds books alongside objects. It does not feel designed for a photograph. It feels designed for living in.
The bones of the space — three floors, the private entrance, the ceiling heights — do most of the architectural work. The interiors complement rather than compete.
Two working fireplaces, a grand piano at the centre of the living space — it is not decorative, guests who play are encouraged to play — and a glass dining table beneath a circular pendant light that creates a distinct sense of occasion without formality.
The whole floor reads as a private residence, not a hospitality product. Two working fireplaces create an intimacy and warmth that no amount of ambient lighting can fully replicate, particularly on a winter evening.
The artwork deserves particular attention. Richard Gorman, Louise Bourgeois — one of the most significant sculptors of the twentieth century — and Annie Morris. Together, the three artists represent a curatorial vision rather than a decorating choice, elevating The Mews into something closer to a private gallery.
'The only time I've stayed in a hotel and truly forgotten I was in one.'

A traditional London townhouse facade — red brick, black door, white-framed windows, no signage, no lobby to cross. Guests arrive as residents do: through their own front door. There is no reception process to navigate.
A hidden internal corridor connects The Mews directly to The Connaught's spa, restaurant and bars — discreetly, privately, and without requiring guests to step outside. Arrivals and departures can be managed entirely discreetly, with the Adams Row entrance offering an exit point invisible to the main hotel's entrance. Among London's luxury hotel suites, this dual-access design is entirely unique.
A private balcony over Adams Row completes the sense of a Mayfair residence rather than a hotel room.
The Mews is a private space, but the service infrastructure behind it is entirely that of a world-class five-star hotel.
A dedicated around-the-clock butler whose sole responsibility during your stay is The Mews, trained to The Connaught's generational standard of discretion and anticipation.
Included as part of the suite's offering — Heathrow transfers, dinner reservations across town, the rhythms of London removed of their friction.
Michelin-recognised food from Jean-Georges at The Connaught, served in a private dining room with a grand piano in the next room.
Restaurant reservations at fully-booked establishments, theatre tickets, gallery access, private shopping appointments on Bond Street — a full lifestyle management service.
Treatment rooms, a vitality pool and a sauna, accessible via the hidden corridor — no need to venture outside, no shared lobby to cross.
One of the defining cocktail destinations in London and an expertly curated tequila and mezcal counterpart, reached discreetly through the internal corridor.
A range of private dining rooms and event spaces within The Connaught, coordinated by the hotel's events team for occasions hosted within its walls.
Private floral arrangements, curated wine selections, in-suite entertainment, personal shopping — treated by the concierge team as achievable until proven otherwise.
225 sq m across three floors with bedrooms on separate levels — spatial separation, not just square footage, and a private entrance that keeps arrivals away from the scrutiny of a hotel lobby. In-suite dining accommodates early dinners, dietary requirements, and the particular rhythms of family mealtimes without compromise.
Two king bedrooms on separate floors, each with its own bathroom, and shared living and dining spaces large enough to function as social space without feeling cramped. In this configuration, it is close to ideal.
Kitchen facilities, dining space, and separation of living and sleeping areas — for executives on London assignments, families mid-house-move, or international visitors spending several weeks in the city. The ability to live rather than merely stay is significant.
The private entrance on Adams Row, the hidden corridor, and the butler-managed environment — the primary reason The Mews attracts celebrities, heads of state, senior executives and diplomats who require a level of privacy that standard hotel suites cannot reliably provide.
The grand piano, twin fireplaces, original artwork by Louise Bourgeois and Annie Morris, and a private balcony over a Mayfair mews street — for milestone occasions, honeymoons, significant anniversaries and landmark birthdays, a setting genuinely difficult to surpass in London.
